No time for a long-winded update, but I'm just gonna say that we got back from SG yesterday.
It was a super whirlwind trip, with just 3 days in town.
The first flight to SIN was wonderful... with a very light passenger load on the plane, wonderful cabin crew with a laid-back attitude and loads of flexibility, and a happy baby who took his naps and was incredibly excited to be somewhere new.
The flight back to MEL was TERRIBLE. The crew was uptight and annoying. We asked for water that never came. We perspired the whole 6.5 hours from a hot and muggy plane that the crew did not want to do anything about despite our requests. The baby had trouble sleeping because he's a freaking polar bear and even dressed in just a singlet and diaper, he was sweating like a baby pig. So he screamed and I didn't sleep.
But the trip back was great :)
The main purpose was to be present to give our dear friends' marriage our blessings. And I am super glad to have been there to witness the love...
The family got a chance to hang out with the baby boy and get loads of hugs and kisses from him.
The baby boy got a chance to see many not-so-familiar faces and explore new territories, which he loved.
Until the last day when he decided he had had enough and STOP TOUCHING ME!!!!
LOL... that was funny :p
This is going to be our last trip back to SG for awhile now I think.
That's what the husband thinks too.
It's just waaaayyyy too difficult to fly with a mobile baby who simply wants to explore his surroundings and cannot be kept contained for a whole 7 hours or more in a tiny seat.
Until he can be realistically expected to sit still and be entertained by quiet activities such as books and crayons and board games and such, our maximum flight time can only be 4 or 5 hours.
Sigh.
Makes me a little sad, but excited as well.
Because this means our money and time will be better spent on real holidays to places like New Zealand and Fiji and Tasmania from now on.
And of course, anyone is welcome to join us on our holidays ;)
For now, I have important assignments due and I'm freaking out.
Buh-bye until I'm done with them!
