We're having.....

A BABY!!!
Yeap. Just one =D
Just one very healthy looking Baby A.
Meet Baby A for the very first time!!!

The big black hole is the gestational sac, the little round circle on the bottom left is the yolk sac that provides the nourishment for baby before the placenta is fully developed, and the jelly-bean (or alien-like according to the daddy) looking thingy on the right side of the yolk sac is Baby A =) The cursors are measuring the crown to rump length of Baby A (head to bum).

AND. We saw Baby A's heartbeat! The moment the tech pointed out the heartbeat thumping away, you could not wipe the grins off our faces. It was the most incredible feeling... 120bpm. Amazing =)

She also gave us a copy of the short report with the dates and stuff.

So, according to the the measurements and my dates, EDD will likely be 5 December 2010. Although the ultrasound measurements say Baby A is measuring at 7W1D and will be due on 3 Dec, I'm more inclined to go with the 5 Dec one, since the difference is just 2 days.

We're 6W6D today and tomorrow, we'll be 7W!
One week ahead of my previously measured dates, so I guess I ovulated pretty on time this cycle.
7 weeks is good =)
Cos that means we're more than halfway through the first trimester, which will end at 13W3D.

And anyone noticed the most exciting thing? Baby A is expected to arrive on 5 December, which would be our 2nd wedding anniversary. That would be the coolest thing EVER!

Sorry, as you can probably tell, mummy cleo is super duper excited about Baby A after the ultrasound this morning =) I can't believe we got to see the lovely heartbeat. The best thing about the heartbeat is that in early pregnancy, once the heartbeat is detected, miscarriage risks drop to just 3%. Which is the best news ever for nervous new parents.

When the tech first pointed out the baby and the heartbeat, the look on husband's face was absolutely priceless. It was shock and awe all combined in one look. I think today this pregnancy has finally become real enough for him cos now he knows baby is real and has a strong heartbeat too.

Tomorrow, shall be our first belly pic and I promise to take it.
Husband will take it for me.
And it'll make the first of many many more to come.
Stay tuned for the 7 weeks belly pic!
(and trust me when I say I already have a belly, although it's probably just fats for now :p)

The next time we get to see Baby A will be on May 6, when we have our very first OB appointment and that'll be the routine 8-10 weeks ultrasound.
Oh we can't wait to see how Baby A has grown then!

We have fallen head over heels in love with a 6mm long, blueberry sized little creature.
And that little creature is our child =)

Hey there little one,
now that we've seen you in there and know that your heart is beating nice and strong,
you're officially a permanent fixture in our hearts and minds.
We both have hopes and dreams for you and our growing family,
but for now, all we wish for is your healthy growth and development.
We love you.
Very very much and we will never be too shy to say that to you.
