1st OB appointment

That was today and I had to take the entire day off work cos the appointment was at noon and the doctor's rooms are pretty far away from work.
So even though that doesn't make my bosses very happy, they just have to deal with it. tough.
Work will have to wait till I get back tomorrow, or if they're really unhappy, I'll quit and stay home. hmph.
Insisting that I should get the first appointment of the day so that I can still go in to work after, is the stupidest thing ever.
My OB only consults 3 days a week, and mostly only for half a day.
He's an extremely popular OB, so I'm lucky to even get a bloody appointment, let alone have the liberty to choose what time.
I'm being irrationally upset over this, but I am SO over having to go to work, study and deal with first trimester pregnancy at the same time. The travelling is the killer and I'll do anything to not have to deal with it anymore.
Not like I'll get any maternity leave cos I've been there so short a time la, so I don't give a shit. Bleah.
Ok rant over.

1st OB appointment today.
Nothing really different to report...
He did a very quick (like 2-minutes) ultrasound scan and gave us some pictures.
Baby's due date will have to be changed to 8th December, as the little one measured 9W1D today, instead of the 9W4D I initially thought.
Not that it really matters anyway, since it's unlikely that baby will be born on his/her due date. So new EDD 8 Dec 10 :)
Baby had a heartbeat of a massive 174 bpm, so that was pretty cool :)
Doctor's ultrasound machine wasn't as clear as the first place we went to, so the pictures are a little grainy and it was difficult to see baby on the screen. BUT, baby is now 2.5cm long so we could see all that we needed to see via an abdominal scan, instead of having to stick me with a dildo cam. Or rather, a vaginal scan ;p
Seeing the heartbeat again made us grin endlessly, and this time round, baby didn't look like a blob anymore.
Baby A actually has visible arms and legs!
Baby A has grown SO much in the past 3 weeks it's shocking! From 0.6 to 2.5cm :)
We'll be going for the Down Syndrome fetal abnormality test along with a whole bunch of other blood tests soon.
Next week, I'll go get my bloods drawn for the blood analysis for things like rubella immunity, STDs and etc... standard stuff.
Then at 12 weeks, we go get a super cool scan done at a specialist maternity ultrasound clinic to check for abnormalities and stuff. Which means we get to see baby again in 3 weeks!!! Any excuse to see baby =) I'm sure baby will be healthy and all, but it doesn't hurt to check it out right? =)
We'll see OB again in 4 weeks to go through the bloods and scan results.
Ok that's all for the boring stuff, pictures time! (not much but it's pretty cool)

Profile pic of Baby A... Check out the widget on the sidebar and see if you can make out Baby A :)
Head on the right, little arms and legs sticking out :)
Our 2.5cm long gummy bear :)

This is a lousy picture of Baby A, but it shows the heartbeat... 174bpm.
It's amazing how this tiny little thing can have such a quick heart rate!

Hey there little one,
it was the most amazing thing to see you in there again :)
The doctor said he saw you moving around a little, but it just wasn't visible to my untrained eye.
But nevertheless, knowing that you're healthy and growing well, and moving around already makes me so very very happy.
Doctor says everything looks good with you, but I had no doubt all along that you would be growing along well enough.
I love you so much and can't wait to see you once again...
