Scan videos, mini scare and a wonderful husband...

So much I wanna say here, but so little time.
Quick one then :)

Firstly, Baby Xander's ultrasound videos at 20 weeks :)

This time, the ultrasound tech was super efficient, which is disappointing.
Not enough time to enjoy seeing our little one in action :(
And this little one wasn't cooperating so can't see much of anything,
but we still loved seeing him up there, and seeing how he has grown in the last 8 weeks.
Amazing stuff.

Around 2 weeks ago, I had a mini scare.
See, my loveliest husband was not working that day,
and he wanted to make me a good healthy dinner with a couple of recipes from our kylie kwong cookbook.
So he set about making soy sauce eggs, fish cooked in tasty master stock, etc.
We both didn't know that anything was wrong,
but I found out the nasty way later that night.
Woke up in the middle of the night around midnight with the most terrible pain in my tummy.
It was a cramping pain that came in waves and made my baby belly tighten awfully uncomfortably.
It made me run to the toilet and I sat on the porcelain bowl for a long time, clearing my bowels completely.
Painful stuff, crazily painful.
Initially I thought maybe the fish or the eggs were bad and it was food poisoning.
But husband was fine and it just didn't feel like food poisoning.
After all I did suffer from severe food poisoning for a week, only a couple of weeks ago.
And it was different.
So I got back into bed, drank a whole cup full of water and tried to relax and sleep.
Thankfully I started feeling better and managed to sleep.
Then over the next couple of days, I finally found out why I was in pain.
Husband's recipe for the fish's master stock included spices like star anise and cloves I think.
And he cooked them accordingly, which infused the oils and flavours into the stock.
Little did we know that such strong herbs are known to trigger contractions and labour in pregnant women.
Thankfully, our baby was not ready and neither was my body,
so my big glass of water and relaxing helped to stop it.
I guess that's what they mean when they say your body will automatically clear itself before labour to ensure your bowels are clean and there are no obstructions in the baby's exit path.
So yes... mini scare, and definitely no strong spices in my food anymore.
Or at least not when the essential oils of these spices are completely infused into the food.

On to happier stuff :)
We've just celebrated our 3rd year ROM anniversary yesterday.
Hard to believe that it was 3 years ago that I officially became Mrs Jude Liew in the presence of all my loved ones.
And today, we're sitting here expecting our first child.
Who so happens to be due on the day of our 2nd year official wedding anniversary.
We celebrated this momentous occasion and milestone with the most wonderful 4D3N holiday to the Gold Coast this past weekend.
This holiday deserves a whole post all of its own, so I'll reserve it for later this weekend.
But let me just say that holidaying with my husband is the best experience...
we had the best time together, saw some wonderful sights and shared lots of private moments that I'll treasure for a long time to come.
4 days together and we talked about our soon-to-be-born son, about our new roles as mummy and daddy, about how our relationship may change and how we want to handle it, about how we are feeling about our new baby and each other. we talked and we shared and we spent evenings sitting on the couch, with his hands on my belly, marveling at the antics of our child in there.
What made it all so much more real, is being able to talk about our son, knowing it's a boy in there.
We talked about how he'll look like and how he'll behave.
We talked about how the daddy will be so excited to have a new person to play matchbox cars with.
He read my pregnancy magazines and showed me how much he cared about me and his child.
Lots and lots more, but bottom line is that we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
The fact that it'll be our last one alone in a long long long long time made it all the more precious.

3 years of blissful marriage, and hopefully many decades more of happiness to come.

Another piece of big happy news :)
I got back my final results for my 2 units last semester.
Credit for Accounting.
High Distinction for Marketing.
Woo-hoo!
I got my results via sms the night before we flew to the Gold Coast,
so that made for a much better holiday :)
I'm incredibly happy and so much more at peace now,
knowing that I won't be studying for the next 2 semesters.
At least now I know that under pressure,
I'll still be able to do myself proud when I start studying again.

Right now,
I'm tired and stressed out because of crap at work.
I'll continue again later this week.

Like I said, so much to say, not enough time tonight.
