30 weeks and our IKEA baby ;)

ok my camera battery died as i was gonna take my 30 week belly pics,
so gotta wait for battery to charge first.
meantime, these are last week's pics...

these are 2 photos taken when i met up with some of the hobsons gang after work on Friday last week for dinner in the city

My 'official' 29 weeks belly pics... taken just before heading out to Stev's farewell party on Sunday...

heh! pls pardon the silly-looking dopey sitting in Xander's cot :p
I had decided that a new "family" photo was due, but after taking this one (above), I realised that the icky mirror spoiled the photo. so we took more!

Stev's party...

I was making the rounds and hugging people I haven't seen in a long long time, while my dearest husband attacked the food, without forgetting me of cos ;) see the 2 plates?

Fellow singaporean :)

With fellow malaysians ;)

another malaysian guy i used to work with, and stev's indonesian chinese who grew up and went to school in sg. see why i loved the people i worked with? we all came from the same places and ate the same foods and spoke the same language :)

then they played charades...

while i "guarded" the desserts on the table, with a plate handy ;)

i can't tell if i was amused at the goings-on in the game, or if the butter cake with vanilla frosting i was munching on was just too yummy :p i think the designated photographer of the day was just fascinated with my belly...

We went to IKEA (yes, again) yesterday, with Kelly.
And I realised that we're having an IKEA baby.
Like seriously...
Every single thing (except clothes and some other stuff of course) in his nursery and stuff that's meant for him has come from IKEA.
The cot, the table, the bath tub, his cot sheets, his cot mattress pad and protectors, his towels ($3.99 each!), his wash cloths ($0.99 each!), and now his nappy bin, cloth wipes container, dirty nappy holder, nappy baskets, wardrobe organiser, etc etc, are all from IKEA.
Haha!
But after doing our homework,
we realised that we have saved ourselves a lot of money, a lot of travelling, and a lot of heartache by doing this.
So I'm not fussed.
But yes, we're slowly getting there...
slowly getting Xander's stuff and nursery ready for his arrival.
Not long to go now...
2 more months! (give or take a few days/weeks)

Now that we're at 30 weeks,
it's the final lap of the race.
3/4 of the way through,
just 10 more weeks to go.
And considering that at 37 weeks he'll be considered full-term and ready to be born anytime,
it may be a lot less than 10 weeks left.

The honeymoon period of the last 10 weeks is now officially over,
and from here on, it's gonna get more difficult.
My belly is big and uncomfortable,
my bladder is constantly being squished,
just like my stomach,
my ribs are bearing the brunt of a squished baby with long limbs,
blah blah blah.
BUT, I still love it.
I love being pregnant.
I love it even when he head-butts my ribs so suddenly and forcefully that I cringe out loud in pain.
I know, I'm weird.
But I do love it :)
I know I'm gonna miss being pregnant once he is born...
Oh well, I'll save the emo-ness for another day.
:)

i got no writing inspiration today.
so bye bye :)
