Sleep training is working!
Woo-hoo!
We've gone from waking up every 1-2 hours ALL NIGHT LONG,
to just 2 wakings per night.
And we've progressed from having to rock the fella to sleep or hold his pacifier in his mouth while he falls asleep,
to having the pacifier banished forever and him falling asleep within 10 minutes of being laid down in his crib on his own.
Just put him in, tell him it's sleepy time, and he sleeps.
I feel soooo much more well-rested now, and so does he.
AWESOME.
Still not sleeping through the night,
but it's ok.
He's still so very little and will still need food at night to keep him going.
If not for the sake of food, then at least for the sake of a drink to quench his thirst.
Since this sleep training success, he has been developing by leaps and bounds.
At 3 months and 2 days, he laughed out loud for the first time.
It was early in the morning while I was changing him out of his PJs.
And boy was that music to my ears :)
I felt a twinge of sadness that his papa didn't witness it and I didn't know when he would do it again.
But thankfully, that very evening, he laughed again while his papa was removing his clothes for bath time.
:D
The happiness in his eyes was evident and made us both so incredibly happy :)
Since then, he's done it a couple of times.
I just can't wait till he is more aware of what he's doing and he laughs more!
Can't beat a cheery bubba :)
The next day, he rolled over for the very first time :)
From tummy to back, completely by accident,
but in my proud mama eyes, it counts!
He hasn't done it again, but I'm sure he will in due course.
Ahhh....
my little one is growing.
What a bittersweet feeling.
But at least I know that I'm doing a pretty fine job at nurturing him and helping him meet his milestones :)
On a separate note,
mummy, wai po and little brother drago will be here this evening.
Getting pretty darn excited ;)
Can't wait for them to be able to meet my little baby boy (who is not so little anymore...),
and for him to see some other new, but very important faces :)
We'll have to both go pick them up cos we're renting a car and will need both of us as drivers,
which means X will be tagging along.
I'm a bit wary and a bit scared about what this will do to his night schedule that we've so painstakingly established, but can't be avoided.
I just hope he can stay asleep the whole time in the car there, at the airport, and on the way back.
Need to try and remind them that he is asleep for the night and try not to wake him or stimulate him unnecessarily.
Can play with him tomorrow instead ;)
Just as well, cos baby is working longer hours next week.
Some other people to help me entertain the little one would be pretty awesome.
Exciting stuff ;)
