My determination and conviction prevailed yesterday,
and I did cook myself bak kut teh mee sua with choy sum.
*pats myself on the back*
I took a 2-hour nap in the afternoon,
and dreamt that when I woke up,
baby was right there in the kitchen cooking my bak kut teh for me.
Boo.
Needless to say I was crushed when I finally woke up and he wasn't there.
But I fought off the urge to try and go back to sleep, hoping I can go back to the same dream.
Woke up, got the soup cooking, then went a took a shower.
I must say I'm super proud of myself cos it was yummy.
Yummy yummy.
The mee sua was for some reason organic oat and wheat one, which meant I was pretty healthy last night.
Without actually intending it.
It was very filling though, so I skipped the oranges.
There's enough for lunch today, so I'll have that and stress about dinner later on.
Don't think I have enough in me to cook like that again tonight.
:p
Yesterday, I got some studying done too.
Not much, but some.
Most of it will have to be today.
Time to start memorising.
Crap like marketing research step-by-step process, types of consumer buying behaviour, etc.
Have I ever told you I HATE and absolutely DETEST memorising theory?
Yes I do.
HATE.
DETEST.
IRKS me to death.
Memorising and regurgitating is not my thing.
Grrr.
But we'll do what needs to be done.
It'll be the last last hurdle, then no more studying for 1 year at least.
Then I can finally concentrate on relaxing and preparing for the little one's impending arrival.
Not a single tear yesterday, so I'm even prouder of myself :)
Maybe it's the fact that I got permission from baby to stream YES 93.3 fm online and got to listen to it for most of the day while studying.
Like home again :)
I knew when and where the traffic jams and vehicle breakdowns were, I listened to 4D results while peeing in the toilet (being alone at home means no closed doors necessary ;)) and I got to listen to all the wonderful chinese songs I've missed so much :)
Bless the inventor of the internet and the inventor of online radio.
:)
At least it's not that quiet that my ears are ringing like on Saturday.
More today!!!
Soon this will make me even more home sick, but for now, it's helping a little.
Like I told baby,
I want to go home :(
I really want to go home.
3 years away is enough for me.
I miss home.
I'm useless I know and I never thought I'd cave in like this,
but I am now.
So pray that we get to go home soon.
Pray pray pray :)
I'll probably regret my decision the moment we hit the shores of Singapore, with the heat and the stress, but I can live with that.
Seriously people, living abroad and away from Singapore may sound like the best thing,
but it's not.
Not really.
Really not.
Singapore still rocks.
Oh and this morning I received my delivery of maternity clothes that I ordered online from the US.
2 pairs of work pants,
1 pair of jeans,
1 pair of leggings,
3 tees.
And they all fit like a dream!
Oh so very very comfy.
And no saggy butt look, so all's good :)
I'm so excited about not having to wear the same baggy work pants to work everyday with the buttons and zip undone, constantly worrying about whether my underwear is showing and hoping my shirt is covering it properly.
Yippee!!!
This is actually my 2nd order from them, the first order I messed up the sizes and ordered them 1 size too big.
So one pair of work pants got donated to baby's colleague who's also pregnant,
and the 1 pair of leggings and jeans I still can wear somewhat, but they look very baggy, like I'm wearing my husband's pants.
Haha!
I've got comfy clothes now!!!
I'm sure my tummy and the little one in there will be eternally grateful that I'm not gonna be torturing them any longer with pants that are too tight.
I ordered from a website called Destination Maternity, and they are oh so cheap.
Like $49 for the jeans, $29 for the work pants and $9 for the tees.
Even with exchange rate and shipping, still cheaper than here.
Sad case...
But I'm happy!
